Heart2Heart

Heart research, fundraising, and care is close to my heart.  Upon the birth of my son and his diagnosis with left ventricular non-compaction of his heart it was discovered myself and other family members are affected by this congenital heart disease as well.  I never knew heart disease effected so many children, one of my nephews and a cousin's son are also both beating completely unrelated heart diseases.  Three little ones under the age of two with heart disease is three too many, so I am a strong advocate for helping find a cure to make these little guys' life better.

The doctors knew something was wrong with my son's heart from our 20-week ultrasound but it was unable to be diagnosed until he was born and they could see a better picture in the echocardiogram.  We are so lucky Noah is healthy and will be monitored to insure this continues.  Nonetheless we've gained the experience of feeling helpless as parents when you want the very best for this baby you love more than life itself.  For this reason, I have a special place in my heart for children with heart disease or other challenging health issues and want to offer those families special pricing.  If you fall into this category, please let me know so you can capitalize on this offer- it's the least I can do given the challenges you're overcoming.

The last two years, I have raised money for the American Heart Association Des Moines Heart Walk with huge success thanks to my family and friends.  I look forward to the 2013 Des Moines Heart Walk and continued efforts to help all those overcoming heart challenges through American Heart Association.
